UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH IS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN STUDENT SUCCESS
At Stonehill, we have been encouraging undergraduate research for well over a decade, and today it is almost a given at the College. Professor of Chemistry Louis Liotta believed in its value when in 1994 he invited student Amy Deveau to work on a summer research project with him. "I am committed to doing everything in my power to help students realize their potential," Liotta says. "Undergraduate research is an important factor in student success. I am so proud to see all that Amy has accomplished." The experience clearly helped shape Amy's future.
"Each experience in your life builds on the previous to become your story. I believe the reason I am where I am today is because of Stonehill and my mentor, Louis Liotta. I hope I can be to my students what Professor Liotta was to me."
- AMY DEVEAU '96, PH.D., ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY & PHYSICSUNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND
